Updating Drivers

Purpose

To ensure hardware components function correctly and securely.

When to Use

  • Hardware is not working properly (audio, video, printer, Wi-Fi)

  • Device crashes or freezes

  • After a major system update

  • New hardware installation

How to Update Drivers (Windows)

  1. Right-click Start

  2. Select Device Manager

  3. Expand the device category

  4. Right-click the device

  5. Select Update driver

  6. Choose Search automatically for drivers

macOS

Drivers are updated automatically through Software Update.

  1. Go to System Settings

  2. Select General → Software Update

Important Notes

  • Only install drivers from official sources

  • Avoid third-party driver download websites
